FOR ESSAY WRITING

The University of Manchester Phrasebank / This phrasebook offers some useful of some phraseological ‘nuts and bolts’ of writing and is recommended by a lot of other universities as well

Cite This For Me / A great little time saver - however be sure to check your references before you submit (just to make sure you’re good to go!)

Hemingway App / This website is helpful for essay writing and keep your word count under control by highlighting complex and wordy phrases that you may want to amend.

FOR PRODUCTIVITY & STUDY TIME

Forest App / This app is a free App which helps with your productivity and managing study time by blocking the use of your phone during study time

My Study Life / A cross-platform planner which helps you keep to deadlines and organise your schedule entirely free!

Scribbr / Scribbr is an online plagiarism checker Whereas many other plagiarism checkers can only detect exact matches, the Scribbr Plagiarism Checker also detects patchwork plagiarism (pieces of text that have been copied with a few words changed).

Quizlet / This is for flashcard learning!

Koofers / This is similar to Quizlet and allows you to learn via flashcards for free

MindMup / An online tool where you can create mind-maps which is a great way to map your ideas together great for both essays & exams.

Project Gutenberg / Over 60,000 free eBooks (a large portion are older literary works) however it is useful incase your library does not have the book you are looking for, or you can’t access the library.

Abebooks / If you need to buy textbooks, abebooks has a wide range of books which are much cheaper than RRP
